La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Phoenix North

Negatives: Everything. The room we got originally didn’t have working AC, the floors and room was pretty nasty, we were missing lightbulbs to the lighting fixtures, we didn’t have a trash can/microwave/mini fridge/etc. , and there was no lock on the window that could be opened from the outside. The window was the size of a crawl space and someone could have easily gotten in and stole any of our items. There is a security guard circling the premises at night looking into every single room, which I have never even heard of until this stay. Overall a terrible experience that wasn’t worth the money or time. They did put us into a different room that had working AC and a lock on the window, but it was still just as nasty with a hole in the ceiling above one of the beds due to water damage. I would give it a 0/10 if I could.

Negatives: I want to preface this by saying: I don’t leave negative reviews, I think this might be my first one ever. I understand that with budget hotels you need to be prepared for things to be out of date, maybe less functional, even a bit dingy etc. but the La Quinta in at this location truly left us flabbergasted. We were given a first level room, with literal writing on the walls, stained lamp shades, suspiciously colored stained carpet, and some walls were yellowed and grimy. Every piece of bedding (comforter, top sheet, fitted sheet, pillowcases) was stained or streaked and dirty. The cherry on top was finding a drug syringe in the grass directly outside our door. We were coming into town for a concert, so had to quickly drop off our bags and head out for the evening. Before leaving we told the front desk attendant about our room, and requested a room change, asking if we could switch upon our return. We were told yes, and came back after the concert ready to switch rooms. The night duty front desk attendant informed us that the la Quinta system goes offline at night and will not come back until early morning, and she would be unable to switch our room at all. (This was before midnight.). We were offered no alternatives. Unwilling to sleep in dirty sheets, we left. ( after it took almost an hour for the refund to get approved through booking.com and the hotel.) We spent another hour hunting for a hotel with vacancies and finally found something at 2:30 AM. This also forced us to spend twice our budget, as vacancies were hard to find this late. It is completely unacceptable that that room was offered to us in the first place. It was truly disgusting and dangerous. (As it was a hot spring day, I was wearing sandals and my skin could have very well come in contact with that needle by accident)

Negatives: Dirty rooms, mold in bathrooms, strong dog urine smell, stained carpets

Negatives: Thar I had absolutely no control over the TV, not even a channel.

Negatives: I didn't really like anything the hotel kept switching up the incedentials policy. Like one day if I book thru a third party I didn't have to pay a deposit but then the following two days I had to pay 75$ deposit no matter how I paid and I had to pay the 75$ deposit for two days in a row and then the following day there was no deposit again. And I never received my two 75$ deposits back.And there was also a shooting someone got shot in the parking lot right outside of my room during my stay and I feel like I should have been in some way compensated for how terrible my stay was I spent over 1400$ during my entire stay

Negatives: The on line information & pictures did mot match up with the way things actually were. Place was totally run down and falsely represented. Exercise room which I specifically asked about & was assured was to be part of our stay was a mess, not always open.

Negatives: Unfortunately booking.com charged me for no reason I had to pay 2 times
