This hotel has a perfect location only a block from Union Square and extremely close to many other areas including tons of shopping. Very conveniently located to lots of public transportation for easy access to the rest of the city.

Staff helpfulness. Your front desk associates were very professional and gave us great suggestions for finding dining close by. Also helpful with directions to the pier. Very welcoming and friendly . Location was good for our needs and price was good.

Room size. Also rooms not soundproof at all. Could hear conversations and activity in the rooms surrounding ours.

Staff was very nice. Rooms were very cute and the beds were super comfy. I'm very picky about the beds because my hips are sensitive. Would definitely stay again.

The front desk staff are friendly, responsive and professional. reception area clean and secure. Mostly quiet. Great location.

The room surfaces, baseboards, parts of the floor and walls were dirty. Clearly had not even been wiped in many days. Encountered nail clippings on the side of bed next to the wall. Black mold on ceiling above shower and pink soap scum on grouting.

Location was great, access to Union Square, Chinatown, North Beach and transportation. The location felt safe, desk staff available at all times and after a certain time, use of key card was required to access the hotel. Hotel employee on the front desk was awesome

It would have been nice to have a small refrigerator in the room but otherwise it had everything I wanted.

The room was quite small. We have requested the cleaning service - possible one time in 4 nights stay - but unfortunately was probably forgotten. Room is quite oldish, the matress not super comfortable.

They call it hotel, I call it disaster.
Positives:
The staff were extremely friendly especially those at the front desk. A particular shout out to Edward, whi was extremely attentive to us, any we had a question about the hotel or the city he was always there to provide guidance with a warming smile - outstanding customer service!
Negatives:
Because it is an old building, there was only one lift (that I was aware of) available to the public. Thankfully, the lift was never in use when we needed it. Also, the hallways are quite dark (poorly lit); the room was cozy though.
