Nice grounds - well located for universal. Liked the 70s decor

Right by a freeway (lots of noise), we were rung up whilst asleep at 8am in the morning and told to remove our drying clothes from the balcony as it did not fit with the “aesthetic” of the hotel - this annoyed us as our curtains were closed and we were asleep and made us feel unwelcome at the hotel.

Location, facilities, design and ambience were exceptional. Movies by the pool is a nice touch and the availability of a laundry was a bonus. The free shuttle to Universal Studios was great.
Negatives:
Free bottled water in the rooms would be a benefit. Breakfast hosts were reluctant to allow seating at any of the 20 empty tables, preferring you to wait for a table to free up in one area.

Everything, we always stay at this hotel when visiting family in Studio City/Sherman Oaks. Ambiance is great, happy, quaint, pool, activities, restaurant on property, etc.

The style of the hotel was nice, the gym was well looked after and had a great range of equipment. The pool area is lovely and plenty of towels out for everyone.
Negatives:
A bottle of water in the room was $5 which is frankly ridiculous! It felt like they were trying to rip you off. In most hotel across Europe water is free in the room each day. $5 is a joke! We were able to drive to the 7/11 but if you didn’t have a car you’d end up paying a fortune for water for a long stay.
Also, the cleaners didn’t come to the room until around 4pm each day which was really inconvenient. We’d come back from a day out each day and find the cleaners hadn’t been. Our little one needed a nap and the cleaners would arrive. I’m not sure if this is a US thing but in Europe cleaners have usually been by midday.
Also, the kids menu at the bar and restaurant are a little too limited.
