we were there for 2 nights. We had a planned lunch at 12:30 on Saturday so we hung out in our room until noon, with the do not disturb tag on our door. We took it off the door when we left. Upon return at roughly 3pm, the room had not been serviced. I asked the front desk and was advised that housekeeping takes a walk through upon arrival and if the do not disturb placard is on the door, they won't service the room. Further, I was advised the staff does not make a second trip to see if rooms needed to be serviced. I understand now, after the fact. We were NOT advised of this practice upon check-in. The front desk NEEDS to advise guests of this practice. What made things worse was there were still many housekeeping staff members making up rooms. Very frustrating. I can live with the practice if I know in advance. Breakfast was mediocre.

While many hotel chains have gone to cold grey decor, this Hampton had an old Hollywood theme and warm, inviting colors and textures. Plus the staff went above and beyond to be helpful, particularly Sam at the front desk. My husband was recovering from back surgery and Sam insisted on helping him get into the car and loaded our luggage into the back.

The rooms were very comfy, breakfast selection varied each day, kind staff, needed card to enter elevator, nice safety feature.
Negatives:
The card keys were down so there was a delay to get up and down from our rooms. Staff did their best tho to accommodate this issue. Had issues with the TV a couple nights not turning off and on properly.
