This was a great location to use when visiting DC. The entrance to the Metro was just across the street from the hotel.
It is just a three block walk to the Whitehouse. There are several good restaurants within two blocks.
I would give the hotel breakfast a good rating, but not outstanding for the price.
The dinners at the hotel restaurant were of good quality and a reasonable price.
We booked a suite with King bed. The second room (#217) was very quiet (see issue in dislike about first room) and we enjoyed having the extra room.
The majority of the staff were friendly and helpful when we had questions.
Negatives:
The first night of our stay we were given a suite (201) that was two floors above several large exhaust fans that operated continuously 24 hours a day. Being in the room sounded like flying in a regional twin turboprop airplane. It looked like all the suites at that end of the building (x01) would have the same problem as this end of the building was enclosed on all sides by other buildings, the only place for the noise to go was up. Also if you wanted to know the weather from in the room, you had to get low in the window to look up through the column of buildings to see any sky.
Some of the front lobby staff could have been a little friendly and helpful, it seemed at times that we were disturbing them from doing something else.

The room was noisy night and day because of outside running engines and also the a/c compressor was very noisy.
The hall is small and uncomfortable with almost no sits.
The breakfast is $23.95 but taxes and 20% tip are added.
After the check-out they charged me $6.00 for 2 bottles of water found in the room even though a sign hanged in the bottle clearly stated that they were complimentary and any additional bottle would have been charged $3 each.
