Wonderful stay and would love...

The property was nice and close to Waikiki beach and local shops and places to eat
Negatives:
There was no sound insulation so I could hear people talking in the hallways, the bars outside and the rubbish trucks in the morning. It was only a concern for me as I was travelling solo with my 4 month old son and I needed him to sleep before our international flight the next day

This is an old style hotel which is ideally located: beach nearby and interesting food around (the poke store aside the hotel is really good). Staff is very nice and helpful. Bus nearby a well (bus 20 goes to the airport in 1h).
Negatives:
From pictures and other comments, it is already clear that the hotel is quite old and, yes, would benefit from some refresh. This was to be expected.
What was for ourselves the most annoying was (night) noise. There is noise from the outside of the hotel (it is in the heart of the city with some traffic, Honolulu has some strange ways to collect garbage, and some visitors can make noise in the street, but there was no works as of May 2024) as well as noise from inside the hotel (our room had some elevator behind it and each night one random visitor was making noise, there was also the noise of the AC devices, ours was off). All this boils down to really bad (meaning no) sound insulation. This is really something that could improve the room. In the meantime, think of ear plugs.

Good location. Cheap laundry. Comprehensive amenities except hair dryer in the room.

The room smelled bad, like pee…probably from the carpet (Maybe just my room). The noise from the street was also disturbing.

Positives:
Location was great, you can leave bags in the lobby which is super helpful. Its a short walk to the beach and easy to catch the bus to the airport. Room was clean, but old.

While the inside of the room was pretty clean, it's old and needs a bit of a refresh.

You get what you pay...
Positives:
Nice location and I mean very nice location, in the heart of Waikiki, so even though place was not great we enjoyed our stay despite the downsides of this place. The price is right if you want to be in the midst of it all.
Negatives:
Room was tiny & loud, place was dilapidated, rug was so old I didn’t want to take my shoes off. Surprised reviews were not worse, was a surprise for me when I got there to discover it the way it was.
