Location and proximity to the ocean and the fact that it had the cottage option.
Negatives:
The desk clerk originally booked us into the wrong room. We booked a King bed ocean view room and she placed us in the room with two double beds with partial ocean view. We complained and was given a cottage as an acceptable alternative.
Positives:
Staff was amazing, especially the gentleman at the front desk during the day/ evening of my stay. I cannot remember his name but he was incredible - it was a common name, worked overnight/sometimes during the day, too.

Nice small resort next to a nice beach park.
Negatives:
Car is definitely needed to get to Kapaa where restauranta and shops are. Busy road. There is an empty plot opposite to the resort which comes with a strange smell. The receptionists could have been a bit more friendly.

When we entered our room, it smells damp. And we saw cockroaches the first day on the table. We dont report it until 2 days later, 2 cockroaches appeared on our bed. Then we immediately requested a change of room. The 2nd room is on 3rd floor and way better.

There was no parking for my unit because there were so many guests in nearby units they took my spot in front of my unit plus took the handicap,too.
In the morning, the kitchenette was covered with thousands of ants everywhere! I couldn't wait to leave, yuck.

This hotel has a beach and an area that is great for snorkeling. The Tiki bar was a fun place to relax, have a few cocktails and something to eat. There was a hula demonstration in the lobby one afternoon. It's centrally located. Close to the airport.
