The rooms were clean, quiet, and comfortable. The free breakfast was great and well stocked up until 10am. Parking was secure and convenient. The staff were all super - friendly, helpful, and accommodating. The location was perfect - and easy walk to all the fun things in Salem and to the commuter rail to take into Boston.

Parking underneath,breakfast included option was phenomenal plenty of foods. Free coffee in lobby 24/7. Close to laundry mat and car wash. Coffee k-cup in room hot good. Housekeeping every day if wanted. Hot shower. Fitness room was great.
Negatives:
The bed was a pillow top mattress so soft and plush when you get settled in then you sink into a hard spot of the mattress and it becomes hard to move around in the bed and really not that comfortable. I’m only 200lbs.For that one reason I would not stay there again. Big reason comfort. That’s just me!

I loved this hotel and will definitely be back again. The location was brilliant, I walked everywhere for my entire trip! The breakfast was simple but exactly what you would want and need every day. There was plenty to eat and they were so kind every morning before they closed, encouraging us to take what we needed before they closed! The rooms were enormous, lovely big TV. Really friendly staff. It was absolutely great and I felt very lucky to have found it! Also you could help yourself to complimentary hot drinks by the front desk when you came in and out every day. Small touches like that just made a huge difference to how homely it was. Also, half way through I decided to extend my trip, and they allowed me to keep the same room to make the extension as convenient as possible.
Negatives:
The only thing I would consider when planning out the day is timing of room cleaning. One thing I did notice is that sometimes I'd go out all day and then when I got home by early evening (usually around 6pm) they wouldn't have cleaned my room yet. By that point I wanted to get into bed and watch tv myself so I didn't want to be interrupted. The team cleaning the room were lovely and kind, always very friendly saying hello etc, and did a beautiful job, but timing wise it just seemed to happen a bit late in the day to be able to have it as often as I'd have liked.

I reserved a room on Booking.com for a friend who had an appointment at the Lahey medical center. Our friend has cancer and has allergies. Despite not offering the Lahey medical center discounts, we booked the room because we thought the room would be hypoallergenic. In a note to the hotel, the room was specifically supposed to be hypo-allergenic, as Booking.com stated. After taking a look at the room, our friend found the room to be dirty and dusty, and canceled the room. This was a significant inconvenience for someone seeking cancer treatment. .
According to Hampton Inn, "if you are not completely satisfied, we don't expect you to pay."
We were not satisfied and did not use the room, however I was billed.
