I missed my connecting flight, but messaged the motel through booking.com to warn them and say that I wanted to keep the reservation despite arriving late. They never reacted. When I finally arrived, they said they'd canceled it anyway and assured me that I'd get my money back. Then they charged me to rent the same rooms again. After my trip, I found out they'd never canceled and I've now payed twice for the same rooms. Complaints to their customer service resulted in a standard letter and then radio silence. So they've effectively stolen >300$ from me.

Even though it was 40 min bus ride from Dallas, we found the location of this motel very convenient with a gas station next door and a Walmart, Dollarama, Wendy's, and a full shopping center just a 3-minute walk away. The one bus was frequent enough for us to get in and out and we loved that we could walked to parks close by.
Negatives:
We would have loved for the pool to be accessible especially since it was full & looked clean. So it felt like a teaser not to be able to go.

Bathroom was grubby, towels were too small, dog poo (hope it was dog....) in the hallway, mattresses left to rot in parking lot, no hairdryer, no replacement clean towels
