Positives:
We always stay at the Comfort Inn Virginia Horse Center when we travel through Va on I81. The location is easy to find and quiet. We usually drive to downtown Lexington to walk about and then go to the Devil Backbone Brewpub a short drive for dinner. The breakfast is fine for travelers like us who need a quick bite to eat before we hit the road again the next morning.

The staff was good. Breakfast is really good. The beds were comfortable.
Negatives:
We had to change rooms upon arrival we checked in went to our room and the room smelled horrible smell like a wet dog. Also upon arrival we found out the pool was closed so we had to go down the street to a neighboring hotel that was letting guests use their pool. The mini fridge in the room was very noisy.

Good location for booking if you are not interested in staying “in town”. Close to interstate.
Negatives:
The staff were barely helpful. They did their job - period. They have electronic room keys that don’t work well. I stayed at the hotel two days and had to have the keys re-done six times. Very frustrating, very annoying - they couldn’t have cared less.
They have a policy that if you don’t specifically ask for housekeeping they won’t provide it. Apparently, ehoever stayed on my room last used two of the towels and then folded them neatly and put them back on the shelf. Housekeeping did not change the towels do when I opened them they had makeup and streaks on them. Staff couldn’t have cared less.

When we checked in, we asked the girl at the front desk if there was a restaurant she would recommend that was close by. She looked at us like we were crazy. She recommended Applebees. We went to Applebee's and it was great.
