Hi, me again - Tucker the Travel Dog! I'm so excited to tell you all about a super pet friendly hotel chain that’s growing by leaps and bounds! I’m talking about My Place Hotels, of course, and they really put the “friendly” in dog friendly!
I recently had the chance to talk with Pete, the Chief Hospitality Officer at My Place Hotels, and he gave me the scoop on how their properties pamper pooches like me.
Tucker: So how many locations are currently open for me to visit with my humans?
Pete: There are currently 45 properties open across the U.S., and they are all pet friendly! All the details can be found on the TripsWithPets.com website, where all of our My Place Hotels are listed by city. The staff at these hotels are all excited to welcome furry friends like you, Tucker! Another exciting tidbit: we’re expanding our footprint into new markets, cities, and dog-friendly towns every month! Most importantly, we think our hotels are especially amazing places for pets to visit because furkids check-in along with their humans, and then everyone can head to the room for a good night’s sleep!
Tucker: Sometimes “pet friendly” places are not really all that friendly when it comes to big dogs like me. What is your pet policy for large dogs, and what types of dogs can visit? Can I bring a dog friend along, too? And, what are the pet fees?
Pete: Well Tucker, as you mentioned, we like to think we put the “friendly” in “dog friendly.” People can bring 2 dogs with them when they visit our hotels, and the dog weight limit is 80 pounds. We welcome dogs of all kinds, such as large dogs like yourself, small dogs, and any in between! For pet fees, we do require a non-refundable pet charge of $10/night, not to exceed $50/week. Also, if you’re planning on an extended stay for a month, the one-time fee is only $100. We understand that our guests have special relationships with their furkids, and that’s why we are happy to accommodate human guests and their furry family members, with low-cost fees!
Tucker: I know my parents bring along my favorite food, but what about my when they get hungry? Do you have things for my humans to eat, too?
Pete: We sure do, and I bet they might even give you a taste if it's in your diet! For starters, we have our famous My Place Breakfast in Bed. Simply custom select your breakfast from the menu at check-in, and a pre-packaged breakfast will be delivered to your full-sized refrigerator the previous day for you to enjoy! And remember, there’s an ice maker in the fridge. We also have My Store in the lobby, providing snacks, dinnerware, pots and pans for My Kitchen. So, you can find your dinner and snacks on site! Plus, there are coffee makers and coffee in each room, as wekk as 24-hour complimentary coffee in the lobby.
Tucker: I get a little excited now and then and kind of jump all over my Mom and Dad. What if I get paw prints all over their clothes?
Pete: My Guest Laundry is available around the clock.
Tucker: My Place rooms sound comfortable, but do you think we will all get bored just sitting around?
Pete: No way, Tucker - there's plenty to do at our properties! There is free high-speed WiFi and wired internet access in each room, so you can stream those old “Lassie” TV re-runs online, or maybe the movie “All Dogs Go To Heaven". There’s also premium cable for the nice flat-screen TVs in each room. And, many of our locations have pet friendly things to do in the nearby areas, such as outdoor shopping, cafes, hiking trails and places to sniff and explore!
Tucker: Speaking of smells . . . what about pets with sensitive noses – are the room free of weird smells?
Pete: Our rooms, and in fact all of our hotel buildings, are 100-percent non-smoking. So no worries - just fresh air inside and out!
Tucker: Wow, it sure does sound like it’s easy to bring us pups along to My Place Hotels! Thank you so much for all your help, and after what you told me, I'm even more excited about staying at one of the My Place hotels! Now it's time to pack up my toys for our trip!
