We were given a room so close to lobby without any privacy so I asked to be moved to different room, we were given a great room for same rate only to get a call at 11pm saying it was a mistake and needed to move, promised a different room # in the morning

it is quiet, the bed is comfortable, the location is great, people running the hotel friendly

the bathroom is very small (shower and bathroom seat right next to each other), the light for the bathroom is behind the door so you have to close the door to reach for it...Very unfortunate architecture...

The place is strategically located and near everywhere. It's not bad at all for the price of it. Although be mindful that there is a service cleaning fee of $25 dollars when you book. Which is kind of odd if you ask me. Frontdesk is very accomodating.
Negatives:
The room (17) smells like strong bleach. A hint is okay, but this one is strong it triggered my migraine. We asked to be moved but apparently, the place is "booked". There is no exhaust in the bathroom, we were asked to keep the door open for a while to air it out. We did, but why the need to, right? I asked if we could get a refund if we are not able to stay, they said we could get a credit or points or something that I guess you can use some other time. They did offer electric fan. I sprayed it with perfume and we went for dinner. The smell went down a little. I was told they do have the same cleaner and they weren't getting any complaint from other guests.

Clean, but definitely feels like a motel and not motel prices.

It was convenient. It had some lovely design features. The beds were very nice. It looked beautiful. Nice pool area.

The furnishings were a bit too shabby. The toilet area was very cramped. There were no fire alarms or carbon dioxide monitors. The bed was too close to the heater/air conditioner for it to work properly and it was possibly dangerous.

Day and Night staff were friendly and helpful. They ran a Happy Hour in the dining area and basic wines, cheese, and crackers were offered as courtesy. Our room was spacious, and the pool was warm while the hot tub was, well, hot.
Negatives:
I saw a couple spiderwebs in the rafters. No big whoop. I woke up in the middle of the night and noticed a lot of different noises from appliances, that I was able to turn down.

The young lady who checked us in was very pleasant, but the had only been there a week. We were initially assigned a queen room, but I went back to the desk to say I had booked a king bed. She called her boss, who after a five minute conversation agreed to an "upgrade" to a king room with hot tub.
Negatives:
Where to start. The king bed was a king bed frame with a queen mattress on it, which made it dangerous to get in and out of. See photo. We stuffed pillows into the gaps to make it less risky. The room was small, there was nowhere to hang clothes, i.e. no closet at all. The chairs were dirty, the sink was mildewy and in drought stricken central CA the faucet dripped. The outside of the building was filthy, dust and dirt everywhere and plastic plants in pots. This was an old, small motel that is pretending to be nice. The only way there are any people there at all is that they offer a 20% discount on future stays if you give them a 5 star rating. As if we would go back.
