Positives:
Convenient location, good value for money (even though there was no breakfast sadly). Close to main sights and transport connections. Comfortable beds, and I really appreciated the great coffee that was available in the room.
Negatives:
The bathroom hadn't been cleaned thoroughly as there was hair in the drain when we arrived. The rest of the room was very clean though.
I was very annoyed by the male receptionist on arrival. Given I had come off a 10 hour flight and had been travelling for about 20 hours total, his impatient and sarcastic attitude was not what you want when you're exhausted and want to just have a shower and sleep. The rest of the staff were lovely. It was interesting that when he was paired with other staff his rude behaviour seemed to magically disappear.
It did not make for a positive start to our trip. Thankfully the rest of the stay went well which saved it.

Positives:
The hotel is centrally located, it is easy to get around the city from. You can walk (about a 15 minute walk) from the SkyTrain if you are coming from the airport or bus stops within less than a block if you don't want to do the walk
Negatives:
The restaurant closes early on the weekends, it would be nice if it at least stayed open until 6:00 or 7:00 so you could have supper there

Positives:
The Burrard is close to a wonderful mix of restaurants, parks, Granville Island and the cruise docks. It was very convenient for our family. The rooms were older but comfortable.
Negatives:
There are a number of homeless people within a block of the hotel and discarded needles. I know this is an issue in any big city. We were accosted after dinner by one wanting money for booze/drugs.

Negatives:
Advance Welcoming email didnt match the actual welcome ! No conversation at reception about our flight, where we came from . No mention of bikes which were available for guests until we were checking out ( overheard the receptionist telling new guests about them )
Elsa in housekeeping was extremely helpful and did compensate somewhat to making our stay pleasant
