Location was ideal for our events. Staff was pleasant. Restaurant was decent except for the long wait. Free water to fill up Yeti for travel.
Negatives:
Room was not worth the expensive price. There was uneven access from bedroom to pain entry. Walls were dented. Needed a fresh coat of paint. Bed was not that comfortable. The worst part was the bathroom. Floor tiles in shower were broken. The shower was an odd shape and tiny. The shower curtain touched you at all times making you feel dirty. I could lose some weight but seriously, the same would occur with a small child.

Positives:
Definitely liked the removal of "adults only swim" time. Families pay the same rate, so why should they get less available pool time? Happy to see this change. The newly constructed areas look good. Liked the new grab-and-go breakfast option. Location is great. Style and vibe of the hotel area great. Fleetwood Restaurant is convenient, with excellent food.
Negatives:
Pools were not hot enough. Front desk staff told everyone the middle pool is 94 degrees and the big pool is 84 degrees. There is no way the middle pool was close to 94 degrees. This has been a constant and ongoing problem at this hotel for years now. I thought JDV/Hyatt might have corrected the issue, but apparently not. Pool temperature has always been the biggest problem with the Motor Lodge. The other hot spring hotel competition like Dr. Wilkinson's, Calistoga Spa, etc. always seem to have their pools at the correct temperature. Even the UpValley across the street can get the temp right. I'm not sure why the Motor Lodge continues to have issues with this, despite countless complaints by us and the other guests every time we stay here. There is an obvious reason why these pools are rarely crowded.

The hot stone massage with Michael at the spa was excellent. The spa front desk staff was also incredibly helpful and accommodating. Lovely spa facility. The restaurant on site has a great atmosphere. Fully enjoyed my stay.

Rooms in the original building are dated vs newer rooms out back. There was no cleaning service when we were there and when we went to the bar at the pool, it took 15 minutes for a drink. Decent stay

Calistoga itself is a charming NorCal town, and the Motor Lodge & Spa did not disappoint. Great location, lovely rooms.
Negatives:
Rates felt a little higher than expected even booking in advance. Know Napa is a desirable location and prices reflect that, but was still a lot.
