About This Property
This Carmel Valley resort features star-rated dining, a wellness spa and outdoor heated pool. A limestone fireplace, 2-person soaking tub and down feather bedding are featured in each guest room. Monterey Bay Aquarium is 12 miles away. Guests are welcomed with a gourmet snack basket, fruit bowl, fresh roses, and a complimentary "wine grotto" minibar with Bernardus wines in their rooms. A flat-screen cable TV, iPod docking station and coffee machine are also provided. Lucia Restaurant & Bar boasts an extensive wine list and a menu that focuses on organic, local ingredients. The bar and lounge area provides a more casual menu and experience. The Spa at Bernardus includes marine-inspired massage services and body treatments in a spacious facility that features locker rooms, sauna rooms, a fitness room and a juice bar. A warming room with fireplace, a meditation garden, a dipping pool and a reflecting pool are available for guest relaxation. A full-service beauty salon is also available. Two tennis courts are on site. A croquet lawn and bocce court are provided for guest use. Garland Ranch Regional Park is just under 1 mile away. The Carmel Mission Basilica and Museum are 9.5 miles away.

We were overwhelmed with the staff, the quick service, the facilities, the food, and the wonderful positive vibe everywhere. It's very rare to get this quality of service, smiling faces and high standards, and it's obvious your staff is treated well, which makes all the difference! Loved the plastic slippers and bathrobe! And the hot cider...Liscia's massage was the best I've ever had!
Negatives:
Just suggestions, not criticism! It would be helpful to put the room numbers also on the stairs leading up to the rooms, it's hard to see the numbers when it gets dark, the light doesn't help... It would be great to have a tote bag in the rooms (which would be for sale), to put our things in when going to the spa. The snacks in the room could be healthier... it's a spa after all. When you put a fruit basket with oranges, don't forget a napkin and knife and plate. Green juices or ginger/turmeric shots on the menu would sell. Portions are huge and delicious and I understand that in the US people eat a lot, but maybe could there be an option of smaller portions as well? And more non-alcoholic choices...even though I understand a lot of clients come for the wine tasting.
