Construction on hotel everywhere. Had to take elevator to fourth floor then carry luggage down two flights of stairs to get to our room. No coffeemaker in tje room. Unsafe conditions with all the construction. Beach was not raked or cleaned by hotel so garbage was in the sand and dog poop. Hotel charged 40.00 a night to park where construction workers also were parking. Makeshift lobby was less than inviting. Yellow tape everywhere and not even sure if pool was open.

We bought the stay based on Booking.com website. It was far from what was portrayed. The property was a complete building site of renovation.
We had take our own baggage’s to our room walking up and down staircases with our heavy suitcases.
The water was not warm to hot
The restaurant bar shut at 21.00
We had to pay an extra USD 50.00 for an “upgrade”
We had to pay USD 40.00 for an exposed parking for 1 night!
Very disappointed that spoilt our stay at Monterey.

Everything! The hotel is under construction, its a complete mess. No facilities open. Pool closed. Gym closed. Bar/lounge closed. Restaurant half closed. Dirty sheets. No prior warning the place is a tip. Nothing on their website indicates the facilities are closed or construction work is happening. Paid over £440 - ridiculous. Terrible hotel.

We did not know that it was under construction when we made the reservation. The construction crew started on the building we were staying in around 7am. This was not quiet work, it involved power tools and hammers. This seems unreasonable when you are spending over $300/night. We also had to special request a coffee maker for our room, but they were out of coffee cups (mugs or disposable). And while there was an ice bucket in the room, there were no glasses of any sort. Our room had been renovated, but it almost seemed to be partially reassembled.
