The hot tub and pool we're down for maintenance which was not reflected on the website or on booking.com and I ended up not staying at that hotel and went next door or the facilities were in working order. I was still charged for the night anyway. I was told I would get a refund but have not yet.
Negatives:
The facilities were not working and nothing was posted and I was still charged for the night even though I didn't stay there and they used my conversation with my daughter who had to pick me up as their reasoning. Very invasive and unfortunate

I liked the friendliness of the staff and the convenient location, relative to my purposes of visiting family. I also liked that the fitness room was open 24-7, which is important for someone who needs to fit in physical activity before or after family events (early in the morning or late at night). The receptionist was very pleasant. The room and bathroom were spacious, well-stocked, and clean. The breakfast buffet had plenty of food and was continuously attended by a member of staff during the breakfast hours.
Negatives:
First, the swimming pool was under renovation. The primary reason I chose this hotel was for its indoor swimming pool, so important to my young child. Fifteen or so minutes after booking the room (it was non-refundable), I received an email notifying me the pool and hot tub were not available, which was disappointing. Next, the room was not well insulated from the noise (in this case, a small dog in the adjacent room and footsteps and voices in the corridor). The heating and cooling unit affixed to the window made loud noises during the night, so that I was awoken from my sleep thinking something was wrong. Eventually I turned off the unit, which was a poor temporary solution as the outside temperature was well below zero, and the room quickly became cold. I didn’t want to alert the staff since my young daughter was sound asleep; I didn’t know whether we would need to move to a different room. Although the heater finally worked several hours later, the experience robbed me of sleep before a ten-hour day of driving.

I have stayed at this location before because it was close to the Cable Dahmer Arena.
Negatives:
There was a large stain in the carpet. The shower had poor pressure and it seemed like everywhere we went in the hotel it smelled like marijuana.

The Wi-Fi went down on Saturday- the front desk did not have immediate access to the 2nd floor, storage area to try and re-install it.
I think the manager should have come in and fix the problem- the front desk was getting several complaints- but she waited until Monday when I was leaving to get something done.
This is the managers job- even if it means coming in on a day off.
