I enjoyed my stay at Howard Johnson. I did read some terrible reviews, the hotel, none of which was to.! You cant beat the price, the location was perfect! It had everything I needed. A cozy bed, warm, shower, and hot breakfast. The staff was amazing too

The Front desk staff was pleasant and inviting.

The bed was lumpy and very uncomfortable. One of the only available outlets didnt work at all. The biscuits and gravey offered for breakfast was cold. The worst thing was the house keeping on check out. The Housekeeping on the day we checked out knocked on our door an hour and a half before check out. They didn't stop knocking until we answered the door and asked when we were leaving. We told them 10 because they were the last straw. Then they didn't listen and said 11 to which we repeated 10. They then left and did the same thing to other rooms down the hall.

It was a good stay!
Negatives:
We needed to move our reservation by a day. Not only did the hotel never return my two calls--the first to ask if it was possible, and the second to see why they hadn't called back on the first call, but they blocked my phone number. I attempted to reach Booking.com, but the email response from them never came except for the suggestion that I call the hotel directly. Totally disgusted and felt like we were hung out to dry.

The site shows jet tubs which is why I chose this hotelgot there and the room had just a regular tubcalled and asked to find out they dont have rooms like that anymore that they were turned into apartmentsthen asked for refund due to false advertising and the janitor told me that they got rid of them due to having trouble so I got more than one storyanyways Im still trying to get my refund and dont appreciate this company.

.continue from dislike: Half the water was coming out from below when trying to take a shower. Went to breakfast around and absolutely nothing left and nothing was restocked. Only kept our reservation because we couldn't get a refund.
Negatives:
The bathroom floors were dirty, there was a dirty plate left in the microwave from previous people that stayed there. There was no coffee maker for the coffee provided. The shower faucet didn't work and couldn't adjust the temp of water.

The second room we got upgraded to was clean.

Very dirty. Luggage carts full of luggage left in hallways overnight, dirty laundry left in hallways, our first room had urine on the bathroom floor, hair in the bathtub, and dirt/rocks all over the floor around the bed. The hide a bed that we were brought had dirty old sheets on it, and there were no clean pillows. Evening staff was extremely rude and less than helpful. Asked for management info and was told he didnt have any to give me.
