Red Roof Inn Albany Airport

Negatives: My room smelled musty and had a slight smell of cigarettes. The toilet seemed to be clogged. So far I haven't understood whether it was just slow and the water rose to almost overflowing or whether it was clogged. It took about three flushes to get the waste out. People who don't like light to sleep: The bedroom curtain doesn't prevent light from entering the room in abundance. During the time I was there I didn't see the corridor light go out. So expect to sleep in a room with a light on. I would stay 2 nights, but stayied just 1 once I thought it didn't worth it.

Negatives: The whole place from the rooms to the staff.

Negatives: They charged me a $100 deposit, which I am told will be refunded in about 4 days. I saw no such information when I was charged by booking.com. At check in, the receptionist told me that I could get a receipt after check out to certify that the refund was due. However, at check out the staff seemed upset that I wasn't willing to trust them. It seems to be the case that he would be unwilling/unable to make good on the night clerk's offer, even if I were to wait for housekeeping to check the room, so I'll leave without doing so. Overall, the staff gave no indication that they understood that I have been twice (so far) coerced into an agreement that I would otherwise not have accepted, and that in both cases they had failed to hold up their end! I will certainly avoid Red Rod Inn in the future, and will also treat booking.com reservations with a fair bit of skepticism.

Negatives: Seen drug dealers and prostitution and pimps hanging around all night

Negatives: the staff- unprofessional management-unprofessional the rooms-dirty, bug infested, smoked filled and they robbed me of my deposit. the management-lack customer service skills need training.

Negatives: Found a large insect in the tub-- no big deal but would probably bother some guests. The facility is in bad need of renovations-- there was some kind of netting on the balcony roof presumably to keep the roof pieces from falling down. I also didn't like having to provide a credit card and $100 deposit -- still not sure if that's been returned. I know it's necessary in some places, but since we had prepaid it made me nervous.
