Excellent location, close to subways and walking distance to Times Square.
Negatives:
Stayed in the 1 bedroom suite, sofa bed was uncomfortable. Requested the sofa bed be made up while out sightseeing after we arrived, had to ask reception twice again to get housekeeping to do this. Asked for extra pillows never got them didnt bother asking again. Room was very shabby, not at all decorated as in the photos on website, carpet very old and worn. Was probably expecting more at it is rated 4 stars and the last time I stayed there when it was called the Affina years ago the bedroom suites was a lot better.
When we arrived at check in was given keys to someone elses room walked into the room it was still in use by another guest, luckily enough they were not present in the room would have been very embarrassing if they were. Went back to reception it didnt seem to bother them just got sorry for the inconvenience and given another key!

Positives:
Room was spacious, comfortable and the location was perfect. The lobby is very grand and ornate (which I think can mismanage expectations). While the furnishings are old, they were clean. AC worked.
Negatives:
Furnishings, especially the bathroom, are dated and used. Could use some refreshing and updating. Despite being December and cold outside, the warms were very warm and needed AC (which was on the loud side). Windows couldn't be opened, which is common for North American hotels.

Spacious, functional and no-frills room
Positives:
The linens and the amenities. The linens were fantastic. One of the best I've felt. The location was great.
Negatives:
The staff, their secret/hidden $40 a night fee, their horrible customer service, they could not fix their printer, they scolded me for giving someone in their lobby the email to the front desk that was already on a CPU which needed a to print.
Positives:
the property is run down and not kept in good standing. the ceiling in the bathroom was peeling from the shower and the mini fridge was leaking water all into the carpet making it sopping wet and smelled of mildew
Negatives:
the hotel postponed our check in and tried to cover up the fact that the fridge was leaking and the carpet was soaked. they offered us a down grade from our room and to sleep on a cot. when we asked for a refund it took a long time at the counter with the manager who was not helpful at all and took several days to get our money back when we were told the deposit at least would be immediately returned. very bad customer service would not recommend staying
