The location was very convenient. The late evening check in person was nice. I was very tired and it was a place to park the car overnight while I pretended to sleep. Hotel lobby appeared more kept up than rooms.
Negatives:
Area a bit sketchy. Hallway smelled. Room smelled. Hallway carpet very dirty especially outside the room I was booked into. Carpet dirty (room not vacuumed? and my white sock bottoms were black after walking without shoes). Hairs in shower and bathroom drawers. Two light bulbs missing. Tub faucet pulled out of wall when the tab to switch to shower was pulled. Stovetop rusty (did not attempt to use). Morning staff member was extremely rude. (I didnt even ask for a refund for the night spent, but he gave me a changing story about why I could not get a refund for my prepaid two additional nights, then suddenly was able to.) Management never even bothered to respond to my email (preferred method of contact per morning staff). No breakfast? (None by the time I left at 7-730.) Room was inexpensive but still very expensive for the value. I have stayed in one worse condition hotel (due to extreme mildewed smell) but considering the staff was friendly and the room was 1/4 of the cost of this room, this hotel is the worst I have ever stayed at. Avoid at all cost.

The staff was good but motel was terrible.
Negatives:
The first room 108 smelt like clorox. I told her my son could not sleep in there with copd. The second room 151 smelt a little better. It had roaches, utilities were old, no phone, no ice machine, tub was rusted, dust on tv stand, trash can was filthy. I was there for a doctors appointment at Duke University Hospital for my son. The next morning he was nausea and sick. It was like a live in residence and not a motel. I would not recommend it to anyone.
