The place was clean. It was conveniently located for our visit to our son.
Negatives:
We were disappointed that the pool was closed. There was a very small notice on the website that we missed before booking. An indoor pool was listed on the amenities. Also, the amenities listed a breakfast. The first picture that came up on the website showed an image of the dining area. Well, the dining area was also under construction and we didn't see that posted anywhere. They did offer a bagged breakfast but we had hoped for a little more.

We did not like the exorbitant price of $--- for one night!! The double room had two TVs in it and neither of them worked. Management was cooperative and reduced the rate by $--- because of that. There was also no waste basket in the bathroom!
Positives:
We chose the La Quinta by Wyndham St. Albans for its location -- we were coming to view the April 8 2024 total solar eclipse and the hotel, with its generous parking areas and broad expanses of lawn provided us with an excellent place to view the eclipse, while able to to walk from our room to the viewing area without needing to use our car for the entire two nights and busy eclipse day. Absolutely wonderful (and the eclipse was spectacular as well).

Negatives:
We were not informed that your hotel was undergoing renovations. There were workers present all day performing remodeling work. The deafening fire alarm went off several times while we were in our room.
Access to the hotel was at either end of the building, not in front.
The complementary breakfast was in a brown bag provided at the main desk.
It is inconceivable to us that you charged full price in a situation like this and never warned us that the hotel was in such a state.
We have stayed at your La Quinta many times, but I am not sure that we will stay there again.

The location is good. Right off the exit and that makes it easy for travelers. They are experiecing a renovation which makess it kinda funky, but they are wrking through it well.
Negatives:
No Vending Machines. Also the experience, and anxiety, of looking at the State of Vermont's Operation Lisence in the elevator showing the experation date was 3/9/2024, we wre there on 3/16/2024.

The AC/heating unit in the room was extremely loud, could not fall asleep once it was on. The biggest disappointment was the breakfast was only a carry out bag with prepackaged muffin and yougurt.
