Very good
Positives:
Location...it was close to half marathon I was running (I wish I knew that parking wouldn't be an issue before I booked this hotel).
Front desk staff was friendly, maybe too much so, since they reprogrammed my keycard after it stopped working without checking any credentials (could have given them any room number! )
Negatives:
The room was truly terrible. Smelled bad, and the window was drafty... which I guess didn't matter since I had to leave it open as far as it went to get some decent air in. It was in the 40s at night, and I was hoping to turn on the heat after closing the window, but the thermostat was unresponsive, on/off switch did nothing, so the display stayed dark, the room dark and I sat in it in my winter jacket.
All lamps and alarm clock were unplugged and and I'm wondering if they just quickly reinstated this room for the weekend, while it was actually scheduled for remodel? The super old headboard around the bed had unfilled cutouts for lamp and alarm clock, same thing on the other wall for the tv. The mirror had a layer of dust (haze?) on it, with someone just quickly wiping a 'V' on it
The sheets and the ceiling were stained, the toilet had dried yellow streams running down the front. I usually drink tab water but it tasted like mold there so I went and bought a 2.5gal jug of spring water and used it even to brush my teeth. Hand sanitizer in the elevator was empty so I went and bought some to clean everything I had to touch.
Lastly, and I understand thee following are personal preferences, but maybe more people might be bothered: I really didn't like that I had to breathe in passive smoke any time I walked outside and I wouldn't have appreciated some healthier breakfast options (like a banana)

I probably won't stay at La Quinta Inn again
Positives:
Bed, parking, wi-fi
Negatives:
No meat options for breakfast, cold hard boiled eggs only instead of omelette, cracked window glass, bad smell in the room

One night stay
Positives:
The room was clean the staff was nice and besides check-in, everything was nice. They even waived their cash policy for me.
Negatives:
At check-in I was told that there was a $100 cash deposit before I could get a room. I told them that no-one carries $100 cash around on them especially when they are on vacation. The manager was nice enough to waive the fee.
Positives:
The location was perfect wasn't to far from work and around a lot of good place. The stuff attention to the guest was great.
Negatives:
The fact that some things were not clear properly. Tub the walls of the tub and the fridge wasn't clean out properly. Also random people knocking on my door late between 2-4 made me very comfortable.
