We had rented a room to have my sons 6th birthday. Before we booked we called to confirm it was OK. The nice gentleman who I talked to said not a problem. So we booked. On the day of check in .We called again to confirm check in and our plan and once again it was OK to have people come. We showed up and the manager on duty who was very rude and short told us we will be getting charged $10 per person extra to use rhe pool. We had 10 extra people including parents. They made us sign wavers for the pool which is fine. But the best part is they even charged the none swimmers $10 to sit and watch their kids. So needless to say we got hit with a big extra charge that he asked about multiple times.. You don't even get charged $10 at a public pool and they have trained lifeguard on duty. I have asked for the senior manager to call us and at this time we still have not received a call. Needless to say we paid as we did not have a choice at the time. Next stay will not be at a this hotel.
Negatives:
Hotel over all was clean and breakfast was good. Pool has a slide and hot tub that was clean.

Frustrating experience with the whole...
Positives:
The staff were amazing, very accommodating & friendly. Pool was in excellent condition. Breakfast was very good & breakfast times were longer than usual. Hotel was quiet even though there were 3 kids hockey teams staying at the same time.

Bugs in my room, an expensive rate, no notepad or pen or any of the little things, bare-bones (expected a little more for the price). The desk clerk on nights. I asked to borrow a fork and knife and apparently, I have to buy a cutlery set, seems petty but I was really upset at this. Overall, it was not what I expected for a Best Western. It seems you pay more here and get less.

Positives:
the location was easy to find & close to everywhere we needed to go in LaCombe.
Negatives:
The front outside area where there was an ashtray had no seating area, & I have limited mobility. When I mentioned it upon checkout she told me there were pathways out the back door with bench seating.
