Holiday Inn Express Toronto-North York

Negatives: The check-in process was way too slow. It took nearly 30 minutes for us to get checked in because the man on duty checking us in was in absolutely no rush, despite it being very late and us wanting to get to the room as possible and check in. His appearance was also very unprofessional (huge hole in his sweater, ripped sleeves, dirty jacket), and he seemed rude and completely disinterested in having us as guests at the property. We believe his name was Jim. For a moment we even thought that he wasn't an actual staff member of the hotel.

Negatives: The accessible room was not ready

Negatives: This might be just bad luck, but a large group of middle-school students/athletes stayed on the same floor with me and the noise they generated made it impossible to sleep. Music, running between rooms, shouting in the corridors, using profanities, knocking on doors as they play the game of locking each other out, bouncing basketballs. Imagine a large tour bus worth of teenagers staying two or three per room without apparent adult supervision. It's hell if you are trying to get some rest before a workday. This continued well past the midnight. I complained to the front desk multiple times and even asked to be switched to a different room. But no rooms were available. There was supposed to be a security guard walking the floors after 9 pm --- had no effect. Quiet time in the hotel starts after 10 pm --- no effect. Other than that, this is what you would expect from a Holiday Inn Express. 2 stars experience, but this is what one would expect. See the good things about the stay above. Breakfast is mediocre --- mostly various brown mush, with some oranges and apples --- typical of Holiday Inn Express. The location is poor; unless you have to be at this location like I was, you would not stay in this location. But there are not many alternatives in this location.

Negatives: Over crowded, loud! Kids running in hallways all day! Stayed 3 days! Not quiet! Free Breakfast was crazy, people there were rude!!

Negatives: I liked everything.

Negatives: The only thing that displeased me was when I booked 3 months in advance, I asked for an early checkin, unfortunately our room was not ready. Understandable. Things happen. Not guaranteed. Upon checkin, realized that there was a hockey tournament going on, kids were running around front lobby, playing hide& seek!! Staff were exceptionally patient with these children,, as the parents were not watching them,, I have worked in the hotel industry and know what happens with these tournaments. Your staff were very accommodating to us as they had us stay on the 6 th floor and the tournament on the 2nd & 3rd floors. But as always,, parents don’t watch their children and they were running down our hallway at 8:00 am.
