This hotel is beautiful and the view is breathtaking. We choose this hotel to be in the mountains and enjoy the views and spa.
While enjoying our time at this hotel, my husband went to the hot tub twice. After his second visit, he woke up that night with a severe itch that was so bad we had to go to the emergency room.
There, he was diagnosed with "Hot Tub" folliculitis/cellulitis. It had spread all over his body, especially in his most sensitive areas. The doctor there told us that, "this is the worst case I have ever seen.” My husband was given medication that seem to helped, however about 36 hours later we were back in the ER for more relief. After our second trip there, the ER doctor also recommended we see a dermatologist. We were able to see one same day, and they too, confirmed the diagnosis of “hot tub” folliculitis and gave us additional medication. The dermatologist happened to own a pool store, ironically, and was very familiar with the causes of this diagnosis.
We had planned on going home early due to our vacation being ruined, however, because of the FAA glitch, we had to keep our original departure date, even after already spending an additional $500 to make an earlier return flight.
Needless to say the staff didn't seem concerned of the severity of this issue at all. They offered to comp 2 nights of our 7 night stay, but we could not enjoy the spa or the sun because of the medicine given to treat the folliculitis. We also at this point had spent 2 full days and nights in the ER/ Doctor offices. We were at Walgreens three times, CVS once and Fry Pharmacy once buying ointments, dropping off and picking up scripts and meds. We spent most of our remaining time in the room.
We planned this vacation for over a year, and couldn’t have looked forward to it more. However, after addressing the issue with staff, no responsibility was taken for the lack of cleanliness in their mens spa hot tub or their outdoor hot tub. We also are extremely upset that no attempt was made whatsoever to apologize or try to make the situation better.
The property was amazing and beautiful with a great view . The room was beautiful nice and roomy
very clean and the staff was amazing!!
This hotel is in a great location with amazing views. We had a cliffside fireplace room and the view was stunning. The room itself was spacious, nicely decorated and had a nice balcony. The fireplace added nice ambiance to our room each night.
The hotel grounds are well maintained and gorgeous. We loved that this hotel is in a "dark" area, where there are no street lights and limits on light pollution. We didn't get to see many stars because it was mostly cloudy during our stay, but I imagine they'd be great.
The valet staff was awesome, very helpful and positive interactions. They let us park near our room, even though that lot said "valet" only.
There were some significant misses during our stay. First, during our 5 night stay, our room did not get cleaned on 2 of the days. This is in spite of us removing the "do not disturb" sign by 8:30am and 10:00 am on the two days, for the ENTIRE day (we were away the entire day from that point). Both times we came back early evening and the room wasn't cleaned. We asked the front desk and they said housekeeping should be every day. So not sure what happened, but read this is an issue in other reviews as well.
Our room was missing some of the basics, like coffee pods for the machine (there was some coffee, but only decaf) and a bottle opener for the wine they stocked in the room (for purchase).
The bathroom was large, but shower very small and dark. Compared to the room size/price, the shower was a miss.
The first day we were there, I tried to make a spa appointment for a massage for a future date (3 days later). I asked about a couples massage, but said if that couldn't be done then we'd take a single massage slot. At the time I inquired, the spa employee said there was availability for a single massage, but would check on the couples massage to see if they could do it (she was optimistic, because we were looking at New Year's Day - they were going to open later that day and she thought that the slot usually reserved for lunch could be booked for a massage). She took my cell number and promised to call me about whether they could schedule a couple's massage. I said that if they couldn't, I would like the available slot for a single massage. Well, she never called. The next day we were out all day, and when I went back to the spa to ask about an appointment - everything was booked solid. So no spa appointment for us. It was disappointing that I couldn't schedule a massage days in advance, but even more disappointing that there was zero follow up from the spa staff.
I wanted to love everything about this hotel.
Overall a stunning location and...
The View and the room
only regular coffee no espresso and to far to walk to a star bucks.
Beautiful but your out in...
