All of the associates we encountered were very friendly and helpful. There was a very nice pool associate at the end of her shift, but took time to find us towels. The location is perfect location for the beach.
Negatives:
The hotel resort fees are an additional charge.
Though our booking confirmation stated they were included. The hotel staff was courteous and explained their policies.

Cape Rey is a beautiful...

The hotel itself is very good, clean, the location is great.
Negatives:
The main thing is that we still feel a little cheated. We drove 3.5 hours through traffic from Los Angeles on purpose, looking forward to relaxing after a hard working week, breakfast on the balcony,with the ocean view.
But when we arrived, it turned out that our $543 room did not have a balcony. Which made us very sad. Also, an ocean view is a view of both the pool and the ocean.
Next, before we could even turn on the TV, we were charged $26.99 twice, and this was in the days when YouTube was available, but that's okay.

We had some very loud people above us. They were dropping stuff on the floor, stomping, and possibly jumping on the beds? It was challenging to get to sleep on some of the nights we were there. The shuttle services from the hotel to LegoLand were not functional. We ended up having to Uber.

Location, CR is located in a prime location across the PCH (Highway 101). Less than a 10 minute walk!

We would liked to have stayed longer and be able to come more often. Unfortunately the costs are more than our budget allows. Senior discounts could be helpful.
