Our stay at the La Quinta Inn in [Hayward, CA] was extremely disappointing. We booked through Booking.com and clearly indicated we were traveling with a pet, but when we arrived after a 24-hour drive from Texas, the hotel told us there were no pet rooms available. We were temporarily placed on another floor and then pressured to move rooms multiple times, including being locked out of our room late at night with our dog still inside. The staff offered no assistance moving our belongings, and one of the rooms we were relocated to smelled strongly of urine and cigarette smoke.
When I spoke with the general manager, he was dismissive and blamed Booking.com for the situation, refusing to take responsibility or offer any resolution. The entire experience was stressful, unprofessional, and disrupted our plans for my sister’s wedding. We’ve used Booking.com for years without issue, but this was by far our worst experience. I hope Booking.com reviews this property’s practices carefully, as it reflects poorly on the platform.

Let me start off by saying. The smell of this hotel. Hit you the moment you walked in. It smelled like mold, wet dog and cigarettes. Everything looked dirty. Our bathroom smelled like someone just pooped. The floors, seats and couches. All had stains or cigarette burns and holes. We didn't sit anywhere but the bed. In fear of catching whatever it was that was on those seats. The staff could care less. Which reflects the state of the rooms. Here is the kicker. All hotels usually put a hold on your card when you check in. On top of the cost of the room. This location was a $100. I've stayed a hundreds of hotels. This is normal for them to do. But this hotel, actually took the $100 deposit out of my account 3 days later after it was pending. I called them and they told me this is normal and how they refund it back within a few days. Let me tell you, this is very suspicious. No hotel physically takes the deposit and give it back. It always on a hold and pending. I think this hotel is committing some form of fraud. 3 different people told me 3 different stories. I was just told by the manger Jay. I will be receiving the funds this week. But if i were you guys. I would warn your customers about this hotel. Something isn't right about this place.
