The staff who helped with our bags and cleaned our room were lovely

The staff at check in were extremely rude, one man in particular who checked us in. We stayed on the 8th floor and as soon as you exit the elevator the smell of mould and dampness hits you. Rooms were okay but extremely dated and depressing. Also we had a room with doors that opened and views to the Hollywood Hills which was nice, however we were woken at 6am EVERY weekday morning by the annoying sound of a leaf blower!! Not the luxury experience we were hoping for. Lastly, we had a rental car (which is impossible to go without in California) and were staying for 13 nights - this hotel expected us to pay $70US a night for parking!!!!!! We ended up parking on the street and having to go back to the car every 2 hours to feed the meter!!!
