The Dixie Hollywood Hotel

Negatives: Room is not that good. Sound protection is quite poor. We can hear the next room chatting every night.

Negatives: The hotel is dated and not very clean, floors were dirty and after walking on them, changed your white socks to brown. the bathroom was noisy when running the extractor fan, and the drains made noise when other neighbouring rooms use the shower. the bathroom is also very small and compact. The rooms have thin walls with some connecting doors which does not provide any privacy despite being locked, especially if you have noisy neighbours. there are no power outlets in convenient locations, i.e next to the bed… also the light switches are by the front door. the location of the hotel is good in terms of distance to attractions, but the area did not feel safe. On some of the nights, screams are heard from various homeless and other random people. The road is also quite busy so expect city noise from traffic and sirens.

Negatives: I did not feel safe. Los Angeles is full of homeless people and they are very close to the motel. It’s best to have a car or rent one if you plan to stay there. The metro station is super close but it felt unsafe at times especially after sunset.

Negatives: The staff did not attend to my complaints- I was ignored even when I wrote severally explaining that I could only stay one night, I also complained to 2 of your agents and was sent back to the hotel ( I may stop using your app). It was an open set-up that felt like anyone can burst into your room without your permission- I did not feel secure I was accompanied into the room by some insects from outside and the bedsheets looked dirty and used I am yet to get back my $100 deposit even though I checked out after a day. The manager I was told by the receptionist was off work that day. The environment was noisy and no table with chair for me to place my laptop to work. Light points were by the door way and no extension wire to take it close to the bedside

Negatives: The maintenance is not great. The main switch light did not worked and the blinds mechanism was missing. The room is clean but when you arrive it smelled not very nice....probably a drainage vent problem.

Negatives: Everything but check out time the staff was racist we were held up in booking for silly reasons that had no true merit and we were treated as if we were second-class citizens from the time we walked in the door to the time we walked out nothing but problems the entire time now you left more tired than we were when we got there all in all one of the worst motels I've ever been in

Negatives: The staff made us check out early- gave our room to someone else told us they would give us a refund and then cancelled the refund after we left the country. Very unfair practices and disappointing that booking.com didn’t do more to help us get our funds back / protect us from places like this. The wifi was also unusable
