The breakfast option was a little skimpy and didn't start until 6:30, which is many hours after after I usually get up and make coffee. No such option here.
Most negative experience wa checking out. I was cheerfully told by the young woman there was a balance that needed to be settled. This surprised me as I had no charges, as far as I knew. It turns out there is "facility fee" of ten bucks and change each. At first the young woman was very evasive about what this was, and I had to press her. She acted like it was none of my business to know, and condescendingly told me it was printed in a notification on the web site. Huh? It turns out it was because I booked through a third party site (booking.com). That's fine, as far as the charge. I don't care if the hotel needs to make money and recoup costs. But why wait until the very last minute to spring this on me?? After a pleasant stay, my last memory of the hotel is now of being "gypped". Had they told me this IN ADVANCE upon checking in it would have been so much better. As such it felt like the the hotel WANTED me to go away with my last impression being negative! Was it worth it, to get that extra twenty buck out of me? Here I am writing a negative review because of it.
Worse was that I had to wait for my Uber and I sat next to the next. It was checkout time and I heard at least FIVE other guests go through the same puzzling procedure, and having a negative experience upon checking out. Worst of all, the young woman almost seemed to enjoy telling people about the extra charge, and how if they had only read the fine print...blah...blah...blah. I shook my head at the stupidity of all this
