Positives: I wasn’t expecting too much, having just stayed in a Hilton Doubletree in downtown LA that left much to be desired. However I was wrong. This is clean, spacious and comfortable (ergo the other one was none of those things). Easy walk from Old Town Station after the Amtrak from LA; I’m not sure I’d stay in Old Town on holiday as it’s a bit limited but this was great for public transport and close to where I needed to be. Nice modern bathroom, ?recently refreshed. I had breakfast included and while I may not have paid for the buffet normally it was perfectly ok, and the waitstaff fantastic and friendly. I had dinner one night in the restaurant which was actually a pleasant surprise; really good burger and absolutely outstanding wait staff. Given this I’m guessing the non buffet breakfast is good but can’t say for sure.
Negatives: It’s quite expensive but then again it is San Diego. Front staff were fine but not in the same league as restaurant staff.

Positives: Loved the staff, friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. Also loved how clean the hotel was.
Negatives: Construction was going on our floor, there was a strong smell of chemical or glue, I have a baby and I was concerned for her health. Beds were on the stiffer side and pillows were too small.

Positives: The location and close proximity to Old Town was great, and the hotel was overall fantastic.
Negatives: The surprise parking charge of $25 per night. The fact that it was not listed anywhere on the booking site beforehand is very dishonest and predatory. I still would have booked had I known that was a factor, but the dishonesty definitely factored heavily into my overall rating. Do better.

Positives: The room is big.
Negatives: It was an extremely bad experience. I booked a reservation a week ago at a low price, but when I got there, the hotel refused my check-in and said they couldn't find my order. I talked with custom service with booking.com, but they also could do nothing but cancel my reservation and let me rebook one with 70$ more expensive. I waited in the lobby for nearly one hour and had to pay 70$ more than expected. Really a bad experience, you'd better confirm with the hotel after you booked a reservation.

Positives: Decent location?
Negatives: Staff made errors with reservation and tried to upcharge me for a downgrade. Petty fees for “incidentals” and parking. Staff was incompetent and rude - took over 45 minutes to check in - despite being the first one in line. Tried to charge me tax twice, and could no explain irregular deposits. Hotel was in disarray. 3 rooms with Barking dogs right near my room. Trees around the parking lot dripping sap. Management was unresponsive. I will never stay here again, or likely any Hilton, after this experience.

Positives: The place is immaculate & well designed. Rooms are spacious & clean. Beds are very comfortable. Location is literally walking distance to Old Town & the red line. Definitely coming back
Negatives: Nothing not to like but, if I was going to nitpick, I'd say the bathroom doors. Never really like the sliders & they're heavy which could be a potential safety issue with the small ones (children). Put a towel down & the fingers should be fine
