Friendly staff, clean, quiet
Negatives:
The outdoor smoking areas were just outside the windows so the room smelled of smoke even though it was coming from outside. I could not use the fan or AC because it pulled in outside air. The smoking areas should be moved completely off property.

The bed was comfortable, the room was quiet. Looked pretty much like the pictures.
This is a motel - if you are expecting something more you will be highly disappointed. The inside of the room was better than the outside and hallways would suggest. Good value for your dollar.

The room could have been cleaner. Sheets had a hole in them. WiFi was brutally slow, basically unusable.

Positives:
I stayed at Cherry Orchard Inn both in 2024 and 2025. The property is generally well cared for, comfortable, clean, in a great location. I particularly appreciated the great water pressure and free parking available at all times. The front desk staff led by the manager Vic is gracious and helpful.
Negatives:
Suggestions for improvement: 1) the front desk staff could pay a bit more attention to the requests included in the reservation. Even though they confirmed by an additional email that they will try to meet these, no room was available per my requests. I appreciated the fact that Vic went the extra mile to fix this, even though that meant I had to move to a different room next day. 2) The room wear and tear varies greatly from one room to another. A handyman should touch up regularly. 3) A food truck is parked in front of the hotel, on the El Camino Real side. This is not the hotel’s fault, but making efforts to help relocate it would benefit the hotel greatly.

Basic but certainly adequate for an overnight stay

The rate is comparatively low in the area

The staff in the hotel should not do customer service at all. He is very rude. He also wants to charge for service dog. Even after I showed him all the documents. His manner continued to be bad even after I started recording.

The hotel is super old. The elevator is a joke. The safety certificate was expired years ago. The staff had no understanding of the law and insisted on charging on my service dog, even though I showed them the SAFE documents. He even asked me to sue them.

I liked that it was cheap and the staff was very friendly. It was clean enough for me to feel comfortable staying there.

I didn’t like how thin the walls where, there was a lot of people across the hall making a lot of noise very late at night. I also didn’t like how they didn’t have breakfast provided and didn’t seem like there were a whole lot of staff working there. Also I don’t think they cleaned the room from top to bottom because I found a pair of socks that did not belong to me.

The elevator is 100 years old, slow and small. The location was okay, but the signage was bad and we passed it up completely at first and had to turn around and double check on how to get there.

The room was basically the only nice thing. The shower had pressure. The staff are welcoming and nice.

The elevator and interior areas need to be updated. The water for the shower doesn’t stay hot that long. The shower curtains need to be replaced. The volume on the remote for the tv sucked the button had to be held down to turn it up or down. Couldn’t turn it down by one count at a time. Same for changing the channel.
