When we checked in, there was no hot water and they couldn’t get anyone out to fix it on Sunday afternoon. So the staff offered to cancel our reservation with no fees or a discount if we decided to stay.

I went back a second time after a less than good experience ie very loud barking dogs in room next to me. I figured may be no issues second time. Wrong. I was assigned to a room with some disgusting smell. I sat in it for an hour not wanting to complain again hoping it would clear.
I have a poor sense of smell so it was very bad. I asked for a refund and wanted to leave. The person said you have been here an hour so no.
I was assigned another room. No smell. One bed instead of two for which I had paid (same as with prior room). Someone decided to loud talk outside my door in the early a.m hours for some time so difficult to sleep Add freeway noise when the loyd talker wasn't outside my door. I mean who stands outside and is talking on early am hours.
I would not spend a dime to return or even if room was free. Spend the extra 30 to 40 dollars for a better hotel and save yourself the hassle. I would never go back.

Positives:
It actually looked like someone cared about this property, although it was $111 for the night, which is at least double what I have paid at other Motel 6s in the past. Same layout, but a corner booth near the work station; “cubbies” for the towels; a retro bookcase for toiletries and a sink that didn’t drip or was rusted out. Two colors of paint in the room - they really splurged! Bed was comfortable and it was very clean. Walking distance to Old Town Temecula.

They didn’t have even the simple things in the rooms. Since there are no vending machines maybe a little refrigerator or cooler would be nice and a microwave for food. Also the AC was not working up to par and the room had a little musty smell that went away when we opened the door for a bit
