My key cards didn’t work 3 times. Had to keep coming back down to reception. It was late and I was very tired but the girl on reception was lovely.
However, a young lad on shift at reception on my second night, was clearly asleep in the back office when I came to request a new hairdryer as mine was faulty. Left me waiting a while and then came thru yawning. I said jokingly, hey, no sleeping on shift. He answered “why not?”.
When a serving military guy came to chat to me at reception, this young lad then asked “are you two smoking?” and this was because we were having a little joke between us. We weren’t loud or rude, just having a giggle. Receptionist has no right to ask people if they are ‘smoking’
As my hairdryer was a dangerous electrical hazard and fixed to the wall, I wrapped it in a towel and wrote ‘hazard, do not use’ on it. Came back after day out and it was back on the wall unit!!!! Seriously, even if you don’t speak English, if someone wraps it up and puts a note on, shake it and you’ll hear it rattle or try it and you’ll see it has burnt stuff in it!!! It’s not rocket science. If someone had come to use that, they could have got electrocuted!!! And it was in a disabled room too. I wrapped it back up and wrote the note again in Spanish. Hopefully they haven’t just put it back up.
