Residence Inn by Marriott Orlando Lake Buena Vista

Negatives: Did not get the room cleaned at all, wasn't provided enough trash bags or towels. The hotel was run down. Was advertised as having a kitchen so I bought food expecting an oven, there was no oven.

Negatives: Bad Breakfast, No feel of hotel, only rooms, construction everywhere, no lobby, no reception, no breakfast area. If we knew that this hotel is so old and construction going on everywhere - we wouldn't have booked it. It is both - booking.com and hotel's fault to not disclose the guest at the time of booking that majority of the hotel is under renovation/construction. There were drilling noises everywhere. Breakfast area was too crampy. Later we found out that this is a franchise hotel - and Marriott company has nothing to do with it. Carpet area is stinky, and carpet is from 1950's.

Negatives: It was dirty Lobby was very dirty

Negatives: Renovations (about 15-years overdue) we’re not disclosed when booking, constant construction noise, temporary dining room was inadequate, food was just ok and lacked variety day-by-day, hallway carpets are dirty, our room had a strange smell, family room had insufficient lounges for 4-people, other guests left their dogs alone and howling in other rooms, washing machines not maintained or cleaned. I would give this place a miss for 12-months or so until the renovations are completed.

Negatives: The whole place needs a makeover, staff could be nicer. We went from an ugg room to really uggg room. Breakfast was basically the same every day.. if you could get some ran out of food often even before the closing times. Supposed to have a shuttle to parks it doesn't it cost a lot for ubers.. it's a lot of misleading advertising. Good thing we didn't drive there the parking fees are crazy. The laundry rooms are so old and and not cleaned at all. It was very dirty inside and around the grounds.

Negatives: The stained carpets/ blank ambience and hospital feel of reception. Stained walls. Basic breakfast which ran out of glass plates and silver cutlery everyday and reverted to paper and plastic. Coffee cups were paper cups. Swimming pool was desolate and not inviting. Furnishings in our room were all stained and sofa bed was broken. We booked another room for the extra person in our room as the bed felt like it had bugs. All chairs were stained. On the upside beds and sheets were clean. Shuttle bus was only one a day to universal and pick-up was also once. If you missed it you had to make your own way. Lift and corridors felt like a hostel not a 3/4* hotel We cancelled our stay after 3 days and booked DOUBLE TREE BY HILTON. It WAS THE SAME PRICE!!! The main reason we cancelled was because the water was Luke warm. It was only on the last day that we realised the tap was broken as another guest alerted us to this. We complained at the reception and they offered us a late check out which was a good gesture but unfortunately it did not justify 3 days of quick uncomfortable showers. We paid approximately $120 a night. Our outstanding stay at Double Tree made us realise what a rip off the Residence Inn lake buena vista Orlando was. Mariott needs to rectify this standard. It has put them last on my list and Hilton will definitely get my vote.
