Candlewood Suites is pet friendly! Pets weighing less than 80 pounds are welcome. While the hotel staff was very professional and accommodating to my early morning arrival, the room reeked of cigarette smoke. I entered the room and was taken back by the awful smell so I walked back out to head for the from desk. The nice housekeeping lady ask if everything was okay. I told her that I must've gotten a smoking room by mistake because the smell was obvious. Very quickly she said, Oh no this is not a smoking room. She followed me to the room and offered a can of air freshener to keep for the remainder of my stay, which was 4 nights. I just traveled 8 hours and drove 2 hours to reach the hotel. I was too exhausted to wait for another room, so I went to the local Walmart and purchased a fragrant candle and incense to cover the smell. Overall, the experience was decent for the price but I will stick with Marriott hotels.
