This is our 3rd time staying here and will probably be our last. The room was dirty. The kitchenette was dirty around the sink and burners. Although we are in Hawaii the room had a lot of cockroaches. We probably killed 20 everyday. Electrical plugs were loose and moved inward when you tried to plug an item in. No non-slip mat in the shower. We brought our own toilet paper (bamboo type) from home and they removed a brand new roll and replaced it with a much lower quality. Why? We asked where it went and got No help. The hallway was very sandy and some of the sand we tracked into our room was still there even after they "cleaned" our room. The one and only time they cleaned our room. Also, balcony chairs are in need of repair. Room 607

Not what it used to be.
Positives:
The Location is absolutely amazing, the staff was friendly and helpful. It was really nice having a small refrigerator and a microwave. The A/C in the room was super strong. Overall a really good option for someone on a budget, when you realize you won't be in your room much.
Negatives:
The decor of the building and room were old and falling apart. The furniture was from the 80's and beyond. I was aware about bugs prior to visiting and did encounter a handful of very small cockroaches in the bathroom and some around the refrigerator.

The hotel is in the heart of Waikiki, very close to the beach, restaurants, and all that this area of Honolulu has to offer,
The hotel itself is a bit on the shabby side and could really use some renovating, but the cost is reasonable (particularly given the great location) and the staff is wonderful (friendly and professional).
Negatives:
As I said above, the hotel itself is old and somewhat rundown, in need of renovation. But given that we paid around $150 a night for a room in our favorite part of Honolulu, we were satisfied.

But I can't say anything else good about it. The room was extremely dirty. The carpet on the floor smelled awful, the towels in the bathroom had yellow stains (we used paper towels), the pillows were yellow and smelled awful, so we had to buy new ones at Target. On the third day, the shower gel in the bathroom ran out, and when I asked for more, I was told that the hotel had run out of shower gel and was given disposable soap. It was awful.
However, the staff was very friendly and welcoming.

We overnighted and it was fine for the short time we stayed. Bed was really comfortable.

Beds were comfy and close to Waikiki shops, restaurants and beach. Staff was nice. Didn't need to interact with them much other than trying to figure out the parking situation.

Building is in need of updating. You can hear every noise from the city and all the rooms around yours. Parking is "available" but it's so hard to get in side the foot print of the hotel. Otherwise you'll be downing a small fortune trying to park somewhat near by. It was fine for the three days we needed to stay in Waikiki but probably won't rebook this hotel.

It was good
Positives:
Location is excellent only block and half from Waikiki beach and stores and restaurants. I booked adjoining rooms and the rooms were spacious. Free beach chairs, towels, and inflatable toys were nice plus!
Negatives:
One bathroom is fine. The 2nd bathroom had leaking ceiling over shower and found 3 "German cockroach nymphs" right before check out. I was unfamiliar with them until I did a search later using google image.
The smell of marijuana from the alley vape store was unpleasant, if that bothers you, but rooms were smoke-free and smelled clean.
Also parking is very limited, and an additional expense.
