I loved the room itself. and room service was pretty fantastic. The hotels location was perfectly centered around everything we wanted to do.
Negatives:
I know there isn't much you can do about it, but I do wish that breakfast in the morning wasn't such a zoo. It was really hard to even get breakfast as well as even get an elevator up or down. But we just opted to go our for breakfast instead, so it worked out just fine :)

Where to begin? The elevators were down for most of my stay. I had to use the stairs to get to my room on the 12th floor multiple times. The stairs were beyond disgusting as there was trash everywhere, cigarette butts all over, and stuff spilled everywhere. I then found out that other guests were told they could use the service elevator, but I was never personally given that information until after the elevators were "working" again. (I put that in quotes as there were only two working elevators; one of which wouldn't even stop on my floor.) The room was dirty. There was so much dirt around the floor of the bathroom, the shower was disgusting. I had to go buy a pair of flip flops to wear in said shower. The bedding was dirty and disgusting. I had to go buy bedding to use for the weekend as well. (Both, the bedding and flip flops costed me money out of my pocket, and it defeats the purpose of booking a hotel to get away for the weekend.) The door to the room (as I had a suite kind of ordeal) wouldn't lock; hell, it wouldn't even close all of the way. The sink in the bathroom drained very slowly, and if you turned the water on all the way, the sink would instantly back up. The toilet paper is cheaper than dollar store toilet paper. The staff is a bit slow; physically and mentally. (The security at the hotel were amazing though; I do have to give them props as they were beyond fantastic.) This hotel listed that they have a smoking area; they do not. The smoking area is out on the streets of Chicago (why they advertise that they have a smoking area is beyond me). There were things like change left around bed along the floor, which tells me that no one cleaned the room properly (but again, based on the bedding, I already knew that). You might think I am being a bit overdramatic, but you can call any guest that was there that weekend as they were all miserable. It is such a shame.
