Bad

Positives: Relatively large rooms with interesting décor. The corridors were kept very cold but the room was warm enough. The receptionist poured some beers for me from the (closed) bar. There was ample parking and it was a quick drive to downtown.
Negatives: I thought the property was quite expensive. It was a snowy night, and I'd booked it in part because there is a good restaurant on site. The restaurant was closed. No breakfast was included with the package, which I thought was an oversight given the price.

Positives: Very unique hotel. Needs a little fixing up, but had a nice artsy feel to it. Right across the street from an amazing little brewery, which made our stay most memorable!

Positives: Location.
Negatives: The restaurant is now closed for business. No coffee making facilities in the room, basic for any accommodation. Rooms are very basic, and nowhere near the images displayed on the booking site.

Positives: This place had been under repairs the last time I stayed there, and they seem to finish it.
Negatives: I don't get this hotel. That night, they wanted $150/night for a pretty basic hotel with no breakfast, and they actually tend to ask for $200+/night usually (I go to Detroit a lot, so I know). They also charge for parking, although there is plenty of it in that area. If you absolutely need to stay near downtown Detroit, this might be a good option, but it is not within the walking distance of anything, so you will need to use a car anyway. Then, you might just as well stay 15 minutes away from downtown for less and get a better hotel.
