Embassy Suites by Hilton Detroit Troy Auburn Hills

Negatives: We were in Detroit for the Lions game on Thanksgiving. After the game, we decided to eat dinner at the hotel’s restaurant. Understandably it was Thanksgiving, so we assumed service would be slower than normal. We expected it. However, the restaurant is not large and it was not full either. The experience was AWFUL. We stood and waited for 15 minutes before anyone would actually seat us. Once we were seated, the waitress took our order and brought us over our sodas at 6:15pm and that was the last we heard of her. She consistently passed us, never asking “if everything was ok” or “did we need another soda” or “were running a bit behind.” Not a word from any of the waitresses. Fast forward to 7:55pm - over an hour and a half later - we stood up and walked out. No food, no drinks, no “your food will be right out.” Absolutely nothing. We watched an entire restaurant eat and we got nothing until we got up to leave. My husband politely said to cancel the food because weve been waiting for over an hour and a half. Mind you, there was a very limited menu. We only ordered a bowl of soup, a turkey club and a burger. All the waitress said was “oh sorry.” And we walked out. Besides that, there must have been some sort of youth team hockey game, so the hotel was filled with children riding the elevators up and down and screaming/running in the halls until midnight, which is fine, but it just made the stay more upsetting due to it being Thanksgiving and we didnt get to eat dinner. Unfortunately by the time we left the restaurant, everything in the area was closed due to it being Thanksgiving.

Negatives: I was discriminated by staff and the room had wall sockets off the wall and also the towels were dirty and no extra blankets for the couch we had to go to the front desk to ask also they double charged me and kept extra 500 plus dollars on hold until I checked out.

Negatives: Loud from the atrium/lobby. A special interest group was staying & utilized most of the downstairs including the dining room which was closed to patrons for dinner. Uncool.

Negatives: The pool was dirty like salt water. Our room was falling apart and I found used bandaids and a vape in our room. Pretty disappointed because it was a get away for the wife and I. And our room was not what we expected. Then the desk put a 30% hold on my card they did not specify in the booking.

Negatives: Noise from 1 75 early mornings heard through the window glazing.

Negatives: N/a

Negatives: The ac/heat wasn't as great in the bedroom. I like to sleep cold I feel like with the door closed I didn't get a lot of the air that was in the sitting area. Also this wasn't the hotels fault but a lot of children running around screaming on the floor I was on and knocking on doors.

Negatives: Breakfast bar items were cold - example eggs - hash browns.
