About This Property

This downtown Minneapolis hotel is 4 minutes from the Minneapolis Convention Center and features an on-site restaurant and indoor pool. Modern rooms are furnished with a 42-inch flat-screen cable TV. Coffee machines and a hair dryer are also included in each of the rooms. Originally built in 1941 as a bank, The Westin Minneapolis retains the building’s history with B.A.N.K. Restaurant and Lounge. Serving American cuisine all day, the restaurant has an open kitchen and oval bar. Free access to the gym and hot tub is provided to all hotel guests. Positives: The room was OK, nothing special but a very nice shower. The building is nice, an old bank converted into a hotel. Other than that, not up to Westin standards. The only (very) bright spot was Natasha at the check-in counter, very nice, efficient and very helpful in giving us directions and suggesting places to go.

Negatives: Maybe the hotel is nicer during the week, but during a weekend it is dead and so is the center of Minneapolis. The breakfast on Sunday morning was terrible, only a mediocre buffet with terrible service. We ended up having just a cup of coffee and were unable to get a glass of water. It took a while to find another option downtown, but eventually we managed. This was the second bad experience in a week with a hotel of the Marriott group...... Very disappointing.
