Every single staff member was so helpful and eager to help in anyway. NOT intrusive, but ready to help any time we had questions. The woman at the desk had worked ALL NIGHT LONG, and she was just as kind the morning we checked out as the night before when we got in from the Billy Joel concert.

I switched shrooms three times for random issues. The Australian security guard told me that the rooms are all noisy because they surround the elevator shaft. Total BS. There were two other people in line at the front desk complaining about power outages and things not working properly in their rooms. The employees were new and had no knowledge about basic operations.

Beautiful historic art deco building with contemporary updated decor. The room was large and had everything we needed. Easy walk to the convention center.
Negatives:
The maid service was not up to standards. Our room was not cleaned as well as we would have liked. The public areas were always immaculate. There is no pool, jacuzzi or workout room.

Positives:
Location overall was great, with access to highway, public transit and walkable destinations. Room size and cleanliness was great. Lobby bar was also great, with good drinks and friendly, attentive staff.
Negatives:
Overall amenities were lacking - valet parking was fine, but there was no porter or greeter to help you with luggage or support those who might have mobility issues. During our stay we saw two patrons fall over. The reception staff was friendly enough, but didn't spend a lot of time to greet guests or share information about the property, i.e., bar on higher floor, museum and observation deck, fitness studio hours, how to log into the wifi, dining options. The rooms had no additional amenities like extra pillows or linens/covers, no minibar (it was all on-demand), and entertainment options were so-so. The hotel had also run out of regular coffee pods for their Nespresso machines and was offering regular coffee in the lobby in the mornings, which was often out.
