There’s construction going on and the only way to get into the hotel is through an alley. It’s safe enough but a little hard to find, though the hotel posted signs to guide you to the hotel so that’s good.

Literally minutes walk from the metro which can get you to midtown in like 15 minutes if that
Short walk up up Canal Street and into Soho and Greenwich Village
A hop, skip and a jump from the seaport and the taxi-boats
Room was decent. Clean. Comfy bed. TV. Nothing to report here really
New York hotels are expensive so although this was dear, compared to others it was OK price wise
Negatives:
Roadworks outside which were annoying. Whole road blocked off. Wasn't the hotels fault but doesn't quite make it a welcoming entrance. Maybe this was reflected in the price though as it was cheaper than most hotels
Most of the stuff in the hotel was closed like the bar i believe and other 'social' areas.
The reception area with the breakfast stuff was strange. Not quite a 'chilling' zone.
Room was proper dark. Bring your flashlights.

I was so pleasantly surprised by this hotel! The staff was wonderfully attentive and thoughtful, the rooms were clean and efficient, and the bed was so comfortable (I spelt great)! Great location, too! Very comfortable, great shower, especially coming in after a late fun night. Very relaxing and private.

Positives:
Good location - nice friendly staff. The room was clean, beds very comfortable -coffee and tea was nice to have. On request we got a mini fridge delivered to the room immediately.
Negatives:
We stayed 5 nights and on 2 days the room wasn't cleaned. Not really big deal, but we ran out of toilet paper ;-)
