It was "safe" as it could possibly be with a room key to get to the upper floors--- they had continental breakfast, including Starbucks coffee, for purchase--& a coffee maker in the room, plus a nice gym in the lower lobby-- 9 out of 10 of the hotel staff was exceptional, just the very very best, magnanimous even! They stored our luggage for us free of charge, both before and after check-in, which was a delightful surprise!! The beds were clean and comfy! Those hydrangeas & real plants, out in the front, were absolutely stunning! We were on the 33rd floor and this pic of the empire state building was a part of our view from there! The Lobby is pretty great, with lots of different spaces to sit and chat with your friends plus tables to sit at to eat your breakfast! Overall I would give this place a 4 out of 5 stars and would stay again! ✨
Negatives:
The first thing I noticed, when we got to our room, was the possible lack of maintenance in the bathroom, due to a small leak coming from the toilet. The second thing I noticed was the room was not very wide, so not a lot of walking- around room.... The walls were actually pretty thin, because we could hear almost everything in the next room! One thing that would be nice, is if they provided water bottles in the room! There were no waters available in our room, even for purchase, so we were out of luck if we wanted any in the middle of the night, for instance, & After walking around the entire city, one can be dehydrated!! There was a nice little fridge though! The food, that I bought for my roommates, a continental breakfast, went to waste, and it was fairly expensive! When my friend went to eat her Danish, it was too dry, probably from first being cold then heated up, then cooled down again-- the fruit in the middle was tasty though! The yogurt was like $6.50 for a little cup, w/ barely any fruit in the bottom and the Danish was like $3.25, but the large coffee was only $4.27, give or take! That's pretty good for Starbucks coffee..... They have three tiny elevators, that do glitch out every now and then, so again this points to a maintenance issue. 9 out of 10 of the staff were fantastic, bc the 10th person happened to be either a front desk person or a manager maybe, named Karen..... I thought she was very rude when I went to check out. I assumed I would get a receipt, but the weird part is that she assumed I wouldn't? When I asked for one, and then I asked one general question about the different charges per night, her answer was a non-answer. When I pressed for a real answer, she just said the same thing over and over! It was frustrating for me! She was impatient, curt, and not very nice about it at all...I guess her need to feel "superior" was more important than my need to ask a question?

Positives:
Everything was great about the property, the location was excellent, just 5 mins away from Times Square and many other major attractions by walking. Subway stations was just 1 min away which was very convenient. There was a grocery store right outside the hotel. The staff was really warm, smiling and helpful.
Negatives:
The room size was too small for a family of 4 (2 adults and 2 kids) but I guess that’s the standard room size in that area for this price range as I had checked many other hotels of this price range and they had similar room size. Also there was no microwave in the room.
