The Gallivant Times Square

Negatives: The elevators are very old! Not just old, very old! One of them had some floor tiles broken and we almost fell couple of times because of it. The waiting time for the elevators is huge because the system is set that whenever you call for an elevator it does not count if another elevator stopped at that floor, so many times it happened that the elevator was stopping at floors where no-one would get on or off, which only add to the travel time (like 5 minutes for 14 floors once). Also, we got stuck in the elevator for a couple of minutes, but it started right back. But the most annoying thing is that they ask for a deposit and no-one explains this exactly. After the first day we had a $92 stop on my account that I never got back despite our efforts to talk with the reception. One person said that he can't see the transaction, and the next day the receptionist said that we will get back the money at the end of our stay, which didn't happened. Not to mention the cleaning: it was a lot of dust accumulated in the corners, and the windows were extremelly dirty. I understand that they are under renovation, but on our one week stay we didn't see any workers. The AC unit: old and noisy! Even on low fan setting it made a hell lot of noise. And this only adds up to the noise of the city that the windows don't do anything to stop. The room size was quite small. We barely had any space to put our stuff (and we travel light!). The bathroom had no place for your toiletries or your toothbrush, except the sink. The smell of weed: people were smoking inside the building and the smell would get into our room most of the time. There were small flies in the bathroom. There was water damage on the ceiling and the walls despite being two floors below the top floor.

Negatives: A hair dryer would have been helpful.

Negatives: For the size, smell, and accommodations or lack there of the price was abysmal. There wasn't even a mini fridge, wifi was trash and my friend couldn't even get regular cell service in the room unless she stood in one corner. I'd recommend much better black out curtains that close to time square.

Negatives: Room was very functional, with very little space around the bed for 2 person occupancy & room for only 1 chair. Curtains & soundproofing were inadequate & we had broken sleep on most nights.

Negatives: There was nothing not to like. We really enjoyed our stay & we will definitely be back!!!

Negatives: Hotel is very outdated, needed upgrade 15 year's ago.
