The location was nice. The breakfast items were delicious and there was a variety of items to choose from.

The hotel and grounds could use some maintenance. The carpet in the room was tattered and there was chips in the paint in the room we stayed in. There was a hotel sign that was broken and leaning that could be fixed. There was also tape holding the floor down when you stepped in the elevator.

Positives:
Lobby was clean when you enter. Room was clean with clean towels and sheets. Breakfast was fine: Basic continental. Nothing to write home about but was good to have coffee and a muffin in the morning. Location was just down the road and minutes from downtown Hillsborough. Stayed in a suite and the room was a nice size.
Negatives:
The walls are paper thin and you can hear people talk and walk by. Doors were constantly slamming shut and would wake me in the middle of the night. Location is alright; kind of close to highway therefore it's difficult to turn left onto Churton St due to constant traffic.

For the price, Microtel is a good quality stay.
Positives:
The woman at the desk was very sweet. In the two times that we were there in one week I only saw a woman behind the desk and nobody else.
Negatives:
Old, broken furniture, stained couch and bedspread, no icemaker’s in the entire building; they were broken and broken the week before when we were there. They gave us a handicap room; I have no idea why but everything is lower, including the sink with no counter space at all
