Located in the heart of Raleigh's Glenwood South Entertainment District with an active night life and noise of over 40 restaurants, bars, clubs and attractions. The North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences is 1 miles away. We have an indoor pool, daily self-serve breakfast buffet with hot food options, outdoor patio with fire pit and fitness center. All guest rooms include a flat-screen cable TV, microwave, and small refrigerator. This Raleigh Hampton Inn and Suites provides a desk and single cup coffeemaker as well. Hampton Inn and Suites Raleigh Downtown guests will be greeted by a 24-hour reception and complimentary coffee and tea in the lobby. Free Wi-Fi. North Carolina State University is 1.5 miles from the hotel. Guests will also be 14 miles from the hiking trails and fishing of William B. Umstead State Park and Raleigh-Durham International Airport.

The location was horrific because of the bar noise that surrounded it. Each night until 2:00am loud, high energy, techno music thumped so loud that our floor literally vibrated from the bass. We were told at the front desk that it was loud outside but not inside. When we reached our room, we saw earplugs that had been provided for us and a white noise machine…not good signs…neither of those sound inhibiting devices could touch the tremendous noise we were to encounter. Needless to say, we went two nights getting about 4 hours sleep each night.
To top it off, booking.com had not transferred our reservation to the property so they had no record of our reservation. It wasn’t in their system that we were even there, so at 2:30am, a man came into our room because he had been assigned the room we were in. Again more lost sleep.
Hampton is always my go to hotel, but never again in downtown Raleigh.

This Hampton Inn is unfortunately located next to a railroad track and numerous bars/restaurants that blast music outdoors till 2 or 3 am. Clearly this has been an o going situation because it is posted clearly at the front desk and they provide ear plugs and noise cancelling machines upon request. The other thing we don’t like was how strong the air freshener odor was throughout the hotel. A subtle smell would be okay but this was simply overpowering. The breakfast was okay - the scrambled eggs had an odd texture - but we appreciated the convenience and variety. Overall, we like the Hampton Inn product and the staff was very nice but this property is not one we’d return to.
