Positives:
I loved the 2 hospitable African American ladies who helped to check me in. One lady was a supervisor, and it appeared the other lady was new to the front desk and in training mode. It's not a problem, just something I noticed. They were both friendly and pleasant.
They helped to make sure I was able to utilize my Marriort Bonvoy membership for free WiFi access and bottled waters. They looked up my account using my email address, which was helpful.
The hotel lobby area was nice and colorful. I liked the historic touches and decorations throughout the hotel and in my room. My booking included American breakfast, which was really good, and the server was nice.
The location is everything. I was only a few feet away from the historic sights I came to see. I used public transportation during my stay, and this hotel is close to it.
There's complimentary ice cold, infused water by the elevators, which was quite refreshing because it was hot in Philly!
Negatives:
I did not like the white supervisor who, when she was asked by the front desk agent about being able to look up my Marriott Bonvoy membership using my email address... She lied and said no, it couldn't be used. And, then, this supervisor walked away. I knew she was lying because the African American supervisor had already stated that they could look it up. So, when the African American supervisor came back to the desk, she was able to shoe the front desk agent how to look up my account using my email address with NO problem.
I booked a room with a view, and I thought that view would be more of the park. I got more of a full view of the marble looking bank and less greenery and brick buildings that are in the historic area. However, I was able to see some of the city landacape and what appeared to be a bridge in the distance, so that was lovely.
The bed was not too comfy. It was hard. The desk chair in my room had seen better days. It needs to be retired to the furniture park in the sky.

Positives:
Excellent location and room size, the bed was comfortable and the view on the park was appreciated.
Negatives:
The room was spacious but the smell inside was not so nice. Was missing some furniture compared to other Renaissance that I already joined in my previous trips.
I called the reception to get a simple bath mat because it also was missing and I wanted to take a shower. They said to wait in the room for the item delivery but nobody came so I got to use the small facial towels which was pretty embarrassing. Additionally the hairdryer was broken.
