Hampton Inn Philadelphia/Willow Grove

Negatives: Breakfast. The plastic utensils and especially the Styrofoam plates were awful. That alone was enough to turn me off. The coffee was not good, there was no cream - only coffeemate,. There was only fake syrup for the waffles -- which were OK in themselves with butter and honey. The eggs and sausages were bland and unappealing to look at. There was yogurt, but it was one flavor of yoplait - which is not really yogurt at all. I had breakfast there one day and skipped it the other days because it was so bad. The door was broken when we checked in and would not close. It was temporarily and adequately "fixed" in 30 minutes or so, but it is clear that will not last long. There was a very strong scented "air freshener" spray used in the room before we arrived which lingered for several hours. It made it hard to be in the space. We requested that the cleaners not use it again during our stay.

Negatives: Hotel is very noisy, freight train runs right next to one side of hotel, PA Turnpike on the other. My room was right across from the elevator and ice machine. Room had peeling popcorn ceiling and the toilet ran. Sofa was the most uncomfortable piece of furniture and needed cushions or pillows. Bed was a little hard, and the comforter was too heavy and I felt like I was being smothered. I did not get a good night's sleep. Thermostat on heater was incorrect, said 68 degrees but it felt like the room was 75-78, had to turn it down to cool down the room a little. Tissue and toilet paper was cheap and rough.

Negatives: Nothing to say, everything was good!

Negatives: at first, the food looks good. I had to stay there for a while due to a family emergency. so I ate the breakfast the first few times. the food was out but it was a MESS (No one was out maintaining it). the oatmeal was definitely left overs from the day before, no doubt in my mind - I did have fresh once) and the coffee was the worst and I later found out why, they never clean the carafe. first cup, I nearly finished and I noticed some large black pieces of something in the bottom of my cup. threw it out . didn't think much more of it. next day forgot, drank coffee but left the tiniest bit in my cup. later when I went to throw it away, I noticed blank chunks again. ewwe. and because I didn't really think much of it long-term, my dumb a$$ got more the next morning. yet more black chunks. this time I was horrified and took them out to investigate. and I realized that they never cleaned the carafes out. just constantly fill it with coffee and over time the junk on the bottom of the carafe just comes apart and into the coffee. gross. I stopped eating the food too as I had some gi issues. do not know if it came from there or not but I wasn't willing to take anymore chances.
